Chili Smith Family Foods
History
Established in 1960, our family owned several restaurants here in northern California. We served some very popular chili as well as other items for several decades. The lost chili recipe was rediscovered while cleaning out the family home, and later, we learned about fresh and heirloom beans—such as Nuna beans and Eye of the Goat—which offer an even better eating experience and fantastic flavor. We marketed our beans, chili, and soups at special events and have shipped beans all over the country for almost the last ten years. When this little studio store became available in Frontier Village in Carmichael, we decided it was time to open a store, which is popular with local bean and chili lovers! Ever wondered who discovered beans? We love sharing the history and variety of these incredible legumes with our customers.
